What should I expect?
An abdominal skin or abdominal wall correction is not a treatment for obesity. If you are overweight, you should lose weight before undergoing surgery.
Will I get scars?
Yes, a horizontal scar across the abdomen. The length depends on the amount of skin taken away.
What should I take into account after the treatment?
Your abdomen is bandeged and you lie in bed with bented knees. This is necessary to take off the tension from the wound edges. If your abdominal muscles are attached to each other, it may hurt to cough and/or laugh . If necessary, you are allowed to take painkillers.
Are there risks?
Like any operation, this surgery also brings certain risks. Examples include infection or bleeding. If you smoke, drink or suffer from obesity or diabetes there is a risk of impaired wound healing. The scar should therefore be very well cared for.
