Why should I reduce my breasts?
If your breasts are so big that you feel uncomfortable about your appearance or when they are so heavy that your back, shoulder and/or neck hurt.
What can I expect of the result?
Your breasts will be smaller and firmer, but you will always have some degree scaring.
How long will I have to stay in the Clinic?
Usually a breast reduction done in day care.
What will my breasts look like after surgery?
There will always be limited scars, although they will become less visable during the first year. Your nipple will be less sensitive, but the feeling is almost always returns. Breastfeeding after the surgery is possible in exceptional cases.
What should I take into account concerning the recovery?
After three weeks you can pick up most of your daily activities again. Sports and heavy lifting, should be postponed until six weeks after surgery. During that time, you will wear a sports bra for good support.
Are there risks?
As with any surgery, there are certain risks involved. There is a smal possibility an infection or bleeding will occur. Given the extent of the scars, there is a risk that the scars heal less well. Especially no smoking is the utmost importance during first two weeks after the treatment for scar healing. For breast reduction it is often difficult to achieve exact symmetry between the two breasts. This is never 100% guarantee.
