Prior to surgery you will have a personal meeting with consultant and/or physician. This conversation/meeting is necessary to determine whether it is a suitable treatment for you. If this is the case the entire proceeding will be talked over with you step by step. The allocation of the hypodermical fat and the elasticity of the skin is examined. The treatment and consequences of liposculpture in the long and short run are extensively deliberated. You and the physician will look at the target areas and discuss possible treatments.
Prior to surgery pictures are taken to enable a before and after comparison. The targeted areas are outlined on the body. When local anaesthetics come into effect the plastic surgeon makes a few small incisions in the skin. Next, he inserts a tiny 2 mm canule and commences the injecting of the infiltration fluids at the targeted area. This fluid ensures a painless treatment with a minimum amount of blood loss when soaking off the fat cells. A vacuum pump sucks up the soaked off fat cells. All other tissues are left intact while the physician moves the canule to and fro in order to suck up the fat. The client experiences a mere sensation of slight pressure and rarely any pain at all. Some areas, such as the stomach, navel and rib areas can be more sensitive to treatment. From time to time the client needs to change his bodily position or even stand upright. This enables the physician to judge the allocation of fat more accurately and achieve a more uniform result. At the end of the treatment the bodily contours are inspected in an upright position. Subsequently the tiny wounds are cleansed and sealed with small band-aids. In addition, celluloid dressings are placed to absorb possible wound fluids. After treatment you must wear a liposuction bandage that exerts pressure on the treated area. This keeps the area in the desired shape and reduces swelling. You free to go home immediately after treatment.
